Starting at a parking lot behind the Patten Lumbermen’s Museum, the short trail makes a ~0.3-mile lollipop loop through the forest. The first part of the trail has storybook panels and some old logging equipment along the trail. The entire trail is gravel surfaced with very easy grades. It would be a great walk for kids or a great place to go for someone with mobility limitations.

And you can check out the museum, which preserves the history and heritage of the forest industry north of Bangor, with collections of tools, clothing, media, and other artifacts.

Directions: Park behind the Lumbermen’s Museum, at 61 Shin Pond Road, in Patten. After turning off Route 1, it’ll be on the right in about 0.35 miles.
