Mayberry Hill Preserve

Casco, Cumberland County

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 160 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 0.8-mile round trip
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: woods, meadow, streams

At this Loon Echo Land Trust preserve, you can make two short loops. The Field Trail, marked in orange on my map, is a lovely 0.3-mile accessible path of packed stone dust that edges a field before slipping into the forest. If you head out for the longer loop, it’s roughly one mile, quite easy and level.

The amazing views of mountains are on the other side of the road, so enjoy them as you drive to the trailhead. This is a good place for local people to take a peaceful walk.

Directions: In the village center of Casco, turn right on Mayberry Hill Road, drive to the top of the hill. Turn left at the stop sign. The preserve is a short distance on the right, with a spacious lot.
