McCrann Preserve

Falmouth, Cumberland County

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 110 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 1.6 miles in network
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy to moderate
  • Sights: forested river

The McCrann Preserve is pleasantly wooded and well marked, with some trails along the river. One of its trails deposits you behind Falmouth High School on one of the school’s wide trails. (I added these to the map, in orange, because they are easy, accessible trails open to the public. Best to visit when school is not in session.)

The preserve also links up to the River Point Conservation Trail, for a total of about four miles of walking. To get to River Point, you need to do a short stretch along Falmouth Road. To find the connector trail to River Point, go to the bottom of the short paved road, down a little hill from the McCrann trailhead kiosk. Straight ahead, there is a narrow marked path. To the right is the trail that leads into the McCrann trail network.

Directions: From the junction of Falmouth Road and Route 100 (Gray Road), look for the kiosk on the left side of the road about a mile or so down the road. A trailhead can also be found on the left, about 1/4 of a mile closer to the junction. You can also pick up the trail behind the Falmouth High School.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
