Ocean Point Walk, Boothbay

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: N/A
  • Trail Mileage: 0.2 miles one way
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: the ocean! rocky ledge, beach

Ocean Point Walk, a very short but very beautiful trail, is marked by a sign along the road saying it exists “for the enjoyment of citizens and guests of the Town of Boothbay.” You can park along Shore Road where it meets Ocean Point Road and either start your walk by looking for stones and shells on Ocean Point Beach, or end there, but definitely don’t skip this part!

The trail is barely a trail, less than 0.2 miles long, and hugs the coastline, squeezing by a couple of houses. It ends at an expanse of bright ledge, a wonderful spot for ocean gazing. It is easy and flat, but not wheelchair accessible.

If you want to go for a longer walk, locals and guests of the town of Boothbay love to walk along narrow Shore Road, which offers amazing views.

Directions: There are perhaps a dozen spaces on the side of Ocean Point Road close to Ocean Point Beach and the start of the trail. If you don’t snag a spot there, you can continue driving along Ocean Point Road to look for a space. There is also a parking lot at the corner of Ocean Point Road and Grimes Ave.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
