Penny Lake Preserve, Boothbay

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 54 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 1.5 miles in network
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: field, woods, freshwater wetland

Behind the bustle of the grocery stores and other shops on Route 27 is this small Boothbay Region Land Trust preserve, which has a handicap-accessible trail. The preserve protects a freshwater wetland and also contains woods and an open field (a nice spot for picnics). Lovely place for a not-too-long and not-too-difficult walk.
