The single trail in this Cobscok Shores park consists of a 1-mile loop that folds and unfolds along the many channels and coves of this part of Trescott.
As of the fall of 2026, the trail was still being built. From the parking area, which holds six cars or so and has an outhouse, the trail passes through a part-meadow, part-blueberry field before emerging on the shore. The trail is easy to navigate and its elevation gain is small, rising slightly in places to many scenic overlooks of bays, islands, coves and estuaries.
Along the way, hikers will see some impressive stone work, likely from a 19th-century farm, and a rusted scallop dragger, also decades old. This scoop is tucked into some bushes; both provide clues to past lives here. The trail also crosses two substantial bridges over streams before returning hikers to the blueberry field and parking area.
Directions: From Route 189 in North Trescott, turn onto Chapel Hill Road. The preserve’s parking area is 1.0 mile on the left.
