Here you’ll find a 117-acre conservation parcel maintained by the Kennebec Land Trust, and it includes footage on the very pretty Upper Pleasant Pond. I found that in the fall of 2015, the trail was a wee bit overgrown in the beginning, and at one point I did wander off path, so take care. No dogs allowed.
Directions: From Gardiner, take Rte. 201 south. Just over 3 miles south of the Rte. 295 interchange, turn right on Thorofare Road. Turn left on Plains Road. The trailhead is on the left just after the stream.
