Willow Walk trail

Vassalboro, Kennebec County

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: Not sure
  • Trail Mileage: 0.2 miles one way
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: China Lake Outlet Stream, park

At this sweet little park, which has picnic tables, a gazebo, and a swimming hole above the dam, you can take a short but charming stroll along a flat, wide, easy path edging the wide Outlet Stream. The 0.2-mile path links the park to the Vassalboro Sanitary District off Cemetery Street.

It’s interesting to check out the fish ladder that swings around Ladd Dam, which hopefully is doing its job to assist the alewife run. According to the town, the park-like land around the dam is privately owned by a generous landowner.

Directions: You can park at the end of Willow Lane or at the sanitary district building off Cemetery Street.
