This was a really nice spot for a short walk, with sandy soils, pitch pines, blueberries, and a trail to Trout Brook. A new housing community in 2025 decreased the area for the trails through the blueberry plains (isn’t this a rare landscape for southern Maine?), but a network of organized and unorganized trails have sprouted up around the development. I hope to map the area soon.
Directions: The address is 163 Ross Road. Pull into a small lot on Ross Road, about 0.9 miles from Route 1.

Unfortunately, about half of the trail system has been lost due to development of a new housing community as of 2025.
Oh no! That is so sad to hear. I’ll update my map soon.
