Broadturn Farm, Scarborough

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 434 acres
  • Trail Mileage: .6-mile loop
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: organic farm

This is a short, wooded walk on Broadturn Farm that doesn’t seem to be well used. However there does appear to be more trails, perhaps snowmobile trails, that you might be able to explore at the far edge of the loop. But they could be private property — best to check out local snowmobile club maps. There’s not much to this walk, but the farm, which is protected by the Scarborough Land Trust, looks interesting.

Directions: From Route One, take Pine Point Road (Route 9) west, away from the ocean. Follow it for 4.5 miles or so to Hanson Road on the left. Turn left and then left again at the public entrance to the farm. Drive down to roundabout and park on the circle. The trailhead is a bit beyond the circle.
