East Point Sanctuary

Biddeford, York County

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 27 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 0.8 miles one way
  • Pets: no
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: seaside meadow, ocean vistas

East Point Sanctuary is a wonderful open peninsula, with vast views that include an island (Wood’s Island) with a lighthouse. Dogs aren’t allowed on this Audubon preserve. The walk is about 0.8 miles one way, if you walk around the headland to the loop at the end of the path (I was not successful at finding this little loop when I visited).

Directions: Park along the shoulder at the end of Lester B Orcutt Blvd. The entrance to the park is on the left, with room for about 6 cars. Best to arrive early or later in the day during nice summer days to nab a spot.
