The small and beautiful Joost Family Preserve packs a lot into a small place: a meadow, views from short bluffs, a tidal channel (or mudflats if you come at low tide), forest, and easy walking. The property is protected by the Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust. All together, the preserve has a half-mile of saltwater shoreline on a waterway between the Penobscot River and Orland River.
