Mount David, Lewiston

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: Part of Bates College campus
  • Trail Mileage: .2 miles
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: moderate
  • Sights: views, open ledge (381 ft.)

The headline of this post should really read, cough, cough, Mount David, Lewiston. It’s not much of a mountain, but rather a big rock next to Bates College. And it is great! Clamber up a short, steep rock for views of the college and city. Students are lucky that this five-minute scramble to open vistas is so close by.

Directions: The trail leaves from the edge of the field behind the Bates College student housing on the corner of College Street and Mountain Avenue in Lewiston. Turn onto Mountain Avenue and park on the side of the street.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
