Parsons Family Preserve and other trails in orange. Wesserunsett Stream Preserve trails in blue.
From the pullover on the street at the trailhead, two narrow mowed trails head off in different directions through a beautiful meadow cultivated as a pollinator habitat. Both trails continue past the edge of the field into the woods, including into the protected Malbon Woods where old woods roads or multi-use trails make a 1.3-mile loop. You can also walk a 0.7-mile connector trail to Wesserunsett Stream Preserve, to the north, and connect to the Appalachian Club Maine Trail Center to the south.
The land is protected by the Somerset Woods Trustees.
Map data provided by Sam Shirley.
Directions: The preserve is off Malbons Mills Road, about 0.6 miles from the intersection of Malbons Mills Road and Route 2. There’s a little space along the roadside to pullover and park close to the preserve sign.
