Wesserunsett Stream Preserve trails in blue. Parsons Family Preserve and other trails in orange.

I think the best part of this Somerset Woods Trustees preserve is the section of the yellow trail that follows the edge of a high bank above the stream, culminating at a bench with a view. Through a break in the trees, you can see the stream turn away, out of sight. From the parking area, if you follow the orange trail to the yellow trail, it’s about 0.5 miles to the view.

The other trails are pleasant footpaths, through woods mainly, with a few inclines and declines. The blue trail is slightly wider than the rest; it follows an old woods road or multi-use trail for much of the way until it swings around to avoid private property, becoming more narrow as it approaches the parking area. All the paths are well blazed and easy to follow.

You can also access the preserve from Prescott Lane, but there’s no parking here. Additionally, there is a 0.7-mile connector trail to the Parsons Family Preserve and Malbons Woods to the south.

I picked the most delicious blackberries from a bramble near the parking area.
