- Mount Will — A moderate three-mile loop on a smallish mountain with views from the south- and north-side ledges.
- Step Falls Preserve — This is a wonderful and popular 24-acre preserve with a half-mile hike up a waterfall made up of big, smooth white rocks and lovely, cold, green pools.
- Sunday River hiking trails — You can hike several biggish loops on well-marked trails at this multi-peak ski resort, to take in the fantastic views during the off-season.
- Puzzle Mountain and Woodsum Spur — This delightful 3-mile hike in the Grafton Notch Station Park takes you to an open summit with gorgeous views. It is not too difficult, with great rewards. You can tack on the 1.8- mile Woodsum Spur Loop for more views, albeit it’s a slightly more difficult path.
- Sargent Mountain — A 1.9-mile relatively easy trail brings you to open ledges and beautiful views of the Mahoosuc Range. A grassy start to the hike makes this a good one to avoid during peak tick season.
