Wonderful walks (that don’t involve hiking up a mountain)

If you’re looking for a walk that doesn’t take you to the top of a mountain, check out some of these special spots. (I’ve arranged these into regions that are very loosely defined and probably not official!

Western Maine (roughly Baldwin to Jackman)

(Most of the great walks in this category fall under Some Good Little Mountains, or Mountains)

Midcoast Maine (Bath to Belfast)

Downeast Maine (north of Belfast)

(It’s hard to choose favorite walks from the many that are spectacular in Downeast Maine)

Southern Maine (York to Brunswick and Sebago Lake)

Central Maine, south

(This is a very loose category! Basically I’m saying any walk that’s between the coast and the Western mountains)

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
