- Mayberry Hill Preserve — A short, easy walk — under a mile — in the woods. It includes a 0.3-mile trail that edges a field before looping through the forest.
- Rattlesnake Mountain — A very popular hike, 0.8-miles of fairly steep climbing to one lookout (one way) and another 0.5 miles to a second lookout. Dogs are not allowed on the main trail.
- Hacker’s Hill — A 27-acre meadow park with amazing views. You can do a short, glorious walk around the field.
- Jugtown Forest — The 5,000-acre working forest, owned by Hancock Lumber/Land Company, is a magnet for snowmobiles and four-wheelers, as well as dog sledders! We x-c skied and fat biked the trails. The walking is easy and fairly flat.
- Rolfe Hill Forest — You can make a pleasant 2.2-mile loop on these forested 400 acres, following an old woods road blazed with blue tags. More trails coming.
