- Rockland Bog Trail, Jack Baker Woods, and Thomaston Town Forest — One trail here stretches more than 11 miles along the Rockland Bog Trail and through Jack Baker Woods and the Thomaston Town Forest. The forest is popular with mountain bikers.
- Weskeag Preserve (South Thomaston) — Beautiful meadows above a marsh. There’s a 1-mile mown loop trail through the fields, with more trails planned for the future.
- Weskeag Headlands Preserve (South Thomaston) — Across the river from the Weskeag Preserve is the 37-acre Weskeag Headlands Preserve, which offers a 1-mile trail and 2,000 feet of shoreline.
- Riverview Hayfields Preserve (South Thomaston) — A beauiful place, made even more beautiful if you can visit when the bobolinks are singing. You can do a ~.9-mile loop on mown paths through the fields.
