- Milliken Mills Trails — This is a delightful network of trails on either side of Portland Avenue, with some interesting history. You can do a few shortish loops.
- Blueberry Plains — A housing development was built on top of this rare habitat for southern Maine, and it appears that both organized (blazed) and unorganized trails have sprouted around it. I’ll investigate as soon as I can!
- Eastern Trail — A great bike path, with lovely off-road sections between South Portland and Kennebunk.
- Guild Park (aka Red and Blue Dot Trails) — Towering old trees in this forest make for a special, short walk.
- CLOSED: Ted Wells Memorial Trail — Short and easy, the trail brings you to a view of the marsh and connects via unmarked trails to the open Manor Street trail system around the water treatment plant.
