QUICK TRAIL FACTS
- Preserve Size: Not sure
- Trail Mileage: 0.6-mile loop
- Pets: yes
- Difficulty: easy
- Sights: farmland, pitch pines
This walking path behind playing fields at a town park makes an almost perfect rectangle. It begins in a forest with pitch pines and milkweed before emerging onto sandy, open habitat adjacent to a farm. (I added on a little extra by following a narrow side bath to the playing fields, messing up the perfect geometry of the map!) Some of the trail is sunny and exposed. The footing is easy and gentle on flat terrain.
According to a granite marker at the start of the loop, the walking path was dedicated to Karl R. Robinson in 2005.
Directions: The path begins at the Shapleigh baseball fields. If you’re facing away from the road, it’s the right of the little basketball court and playground, through a break in the brush.
