Tannery Brook

Gorham, Cumberland County

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: Not sure
  • Trail Mileage: 1.5 miles in network
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: pond, bike trails

This forested area filled with pines is cared for by the Gorham Conservation Commission. It has about 1.5 miles of walking paths, and a wetland and pretty pond along Tannery Brook that looks like it might be good for ice skating (when the ice is thick and safe!). The trails are mostly very well marked, wide, and easy.

Additionally, the walking trails link up to many curvy mountain bike trails, mostly to the northwest (these are mostly not marked on my map). Check Strava, AllTrails, or another trail app for the full crazy spread!

Directions: The trailhead is on Wentworth Drive. Continue past the bank, following the access road as it curves to the right, and park beside the road before the gate.

  1. I walked the blue trail – Bushwhack Loop – today. Not far in from the trailhead the trail divides. Staying to the right there is fairly new wooden footbridge. Following that leads away from Bushwhack Loop and up toward the highway and some houses. To stay on the blue trail one must veer off to the left, however, there is not a blue trail marker where the trails divide. I have seen one on tree at that spot nearby but today I could not find one. Please put one up. Someone not familiar with the trail might follow the trail with the footbridge.
Please get back to me on this.
    Thanks – Jeff
