St. George School Trail, St. George

  • Preserve Size: Not sure
  • Trail Mileage: ~ 1 mile in network
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: Tenants Harbor estuary

This was, to me, a surprisingly delightful and well-maintained trail behind the elementary school and library, with a really great view point and resting spot on an estuary. (I couldn’t find an official name for this body of water.) At this point, there are fairly flat ledges to sit or sun in, and it looks like it could be decent swimming? The forest trails are pretty, with some views over the marsh. The school and library are linked by a short forest path, too, within this trail network.

Directions: The path takes off from the playground/playing area of the St George Elementary School, which is located at the end of Juniper Street and Elementary School Road. You can also get there from Main Street, and the address is 65 Main Street. If you park in front of the school (during weekends and holidays), walk a bit past the playground and look for a blazed trail on your left.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
