QUICK TRAIL FACTS
- Preserve Size: 26 acres
- Trail Mileage: ~1 mile
- Pets: no
- Difficulty: easy
- Sights: meadow, Shorey's Brook, Salmon Falls River
This is a lovely preserve to explore, tucked in between a brook and a wetland, on a trail that takes you through a meadow and woods and along tidal and freshwater frontage. The path ends at a lookout over the Salmon Falls River. The lucky caretaker of the property gets to live in the middle of the preserve, in a little white house at the top of the meadow.
The trails are easy to walk — either mown paths through fields or wide paths through forest with the occasional rooty section. For the absolute easiest walking, take the trail next to the house (the caretaker doesn’t mind!) and continue down the wide, flat, smooth forest path to the pretty point on the river.
Directions: The large parking area is on Route 101, west of Route 236, just over the South Berwick/Eliot town line at 15 Dover-Eliot Rd.
