Berwick, York County

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 130 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 1.5 miles
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: grassland, Salmon Falls River

Tuckahoe, just north of Keay Brook Preserve, is a 130-acre Great Works Regional Land Trust preserve that includes an open field and a loop trail that follows a 6,200-foot stretch of the Salmon Falls River. The river is not easily accessible because of the short but steep banks. Instead, you can appreciate the soothing sounds of the river’s small rapids!

From the parking area, the trail follows a wide road for 0.1 mile or so to a meadow with a picnic area. Look for the trail on your left, before you reach the picnic tables. It’s marked with a wooden post with a blue blaze. The trail then heads through the woods along a flat, straight trail to a 0.5-mile lollipop loop that follows the river for two sides of a circle (more a funky square) where the river makes a sharp bend.

Directions: The parking area is at 335 Hubbard Rd.
