Freedom Forest Preserve, Freedom

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: Not sure
  • Trail Mileage: 1.2 miles
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy

You can do a quiet, well-marked loop in the forest here, which has been protected by Sebasticook Regional Land Trust. From the parking area, you’ll head up a slight hill on a widish track. In about 430 feet, you can turn right to do the 1.1-mile loop counter-clockwise, or continue straight.

Directions: From downtown Unity, travel south on Route 202 toward Albion. In 6.3 miles, take a left onto Route 137. Travel 4.1 miles until you reach North Palermo Road, then take a right. Go another 4 miles until you see the preserve sign on your right. It is one mile past the intersection with Greeley and Albion Roads. The parking lot can be a bit grassy.
