(Norton Preserve in orange; Fuller Forest Preserve in blue; Lafcadio’s Woods in red.)
I recommend walking the orange trail to the end of the yellow trail at the wooded and wetland-y Norton Preserve. The winding orange trail takes you through a mature forest, with views over the marsh. The yellow trail brings you into the marsh and connects to the 220-acre Fuller Forest Preserve.
Directions: The preserve is at the end of Norton Road, which is a dead-end road in a quiet neighborhood. Parking is very limited: it’s not allowed on the side of the road or at the preserve entrance, but rather in a small lot — big enough for two vehicles — located immediately after Oreilly Lane on the right. The Kittery Land Trust asks that visitors respect the preserve rules and be respectful of people living nearby.
