Ricker Field, Alfred

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: Not sure
  • Trail Mileage: ~0.4 miles
  • Pets: no
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: Littlefield River, hayfields

The Three Rivers Land Trust invites the public to visit its headquarters on Swetts Bridge Road, perched atop a wide field that slopes down to Littlefield River, for a snowshoe or stroll. When we visited after a big storm, no one had broken a path yet, so we tromped through deep, blue-white snow. We also weren’t sure where the property line ended, so we turned around mid-meadow, close to the sledding hill.

The land trust asks people not to walk through the hayfields during late spring and summer to protect nesting birds and the hay.

Directions: The land trust headquarters is at 235 Swetts Bridge Road.
