This is a beautiful place to walk, along a well-made, wide path that skirts a large field and brings you through mature forest where you can catch views of Bradley Pond and the surrounding wetlands. The trail is maintained by the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust.

The Upper Loop Trail begins from the parking lot and kiosk, and starts off by winding through forest for about half a mile. This section offer easy walking. When the trail intersects with the Bradley Pond Loop, you will descend a steep hill, the most more challenging part of the walk. After that, the path levels out again and continues past a little pond, a gravel pit (which is off limits), and along the edge of a large meadow.

At the far end of the field, you’ll reenter woods that edge Bradley Pond, the headwaters of the Cathance River. This section of the trail ends at a short loop, which includes navigating a small hill next to an extraordinary tree growing on a boulder.

From the trailhead to the end of Bradley Pond Loop, it’s about 1 mile.

Directions: If crossing into Topsham from Brunswick over the Frank Wood Bridge (green bridge across Androscoggin River), continue north on Rt. 201 for 5.5 miles. Take a slight left on Bradley Pond Road and continue for a half mile. The road will turn to the left and shortly after, you will see the parking area on the right.
