Hope Cemetery and Woods, Kennebunk

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 75 acres
  • Trail Mileage: ~2.4 miles of trails in network
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: Hope Cemetery, Wiggins Pond

I love the name of this cemetery. I hope I will very much be hoping after I’m gone and buried. The cemetery is a nice place to walk — even better are the clearly beloved trails around them. The roughly 2.4 miles of trails that abut the cemetery are maintained immaculately by a local volunteer group. They are well marked, wide, flat and fairly smooth — probably accessible for a sturdy wheelchair. While parking is really only available at two access points, walkers can enter the system via the cemetery, Wood Pond Lane, Fletcher Street, and Woodhaven Drive.

Directions: While there are several places to access this trail system, not all of them are conducive to parking. The map suggest parking at the end of Wood Pond Road or in the cemetery at the end of the access road.
