QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: Pine Grove Park is 6.5 acres
  • Trail Mileage: ~.5 miles one way
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: playground

Portland Trails is doing interesting things by showing on its map how to link several city trails together for longer walks. This trail is one of those little segment that by itself is not much, but could be a fun, long walk if you combine it with other nearby trails, like the Ocean Avenue Recreation Area. The trailhead is off to the side of the little school playground. Evidently, kids designed and built this trail! Pine Grove Park is crisscrossed with trails despite being tiny.

Directions: There are trailheads at Pine Grove Park on both Virginia Street and Ray Street and another trailhead at the far end of the Lyseth-Moore parking lot off Auburn Street. You can only park at the school during evenings, weekends, and vacations.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
