Mill Pond Preserve, Arrowsic

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 51 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 1.4-mile loop
  • Pets: no
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: Back River, Spartina saltmarsh, white pine and red oak forest, shrub swamp

Hallelujah, this is a relatively new Nature Conservancy preserve (as of 2016) in Arrowsic, and it’s very special. The 1.4-mile loop takes you to a point on a peninsula with views of the Back River, and through an old homestead site. No dogs allowed here.

Directions: From Bath, take Route 127 south toward Georgetown. Take a left at Old Stage Road (which connects back to 127 farther one), and drive the windy road to the trailhead on your left, about 1.8 miles down.
