The bones are good with this trail! It is a wide, gravel path that is wheelchair accessible in dry conditions. Unfortunately, when I visited in December, 2023, the path was a bit ragged, most likely due to some recent heavy storms. Erosion had eaten away the path in at least one spot, and a few downed trees were blocking the path in places. The northern half of the trail, closer to the elementary school, was in better shape than the lower portion.
Besides the cleanup that needs to happen, the trail is a wonderful resource for the town. At just under one mile one way, it connects the high school with the elementary school, passing through forest and by many informational nature signs. Every town should have one of these!
Directions: You can start at either the Hermon Elementary School or High School, where there is parking close to the trailhead at both.
