Reef Point Preserve, Waldoboro

To access the 55-acres preserve, you have to park your car on Depot Street and walk down a dirt road that is not plowed in the winter. It starts off by passing someone’s house, and when I was there, there were no signs for the preserve at the starting point. After .8-mile, you’ll come across a small Medomak Valley Land Trust sign where the trail splits and makes a .6-mile loop. The part of the trail that passes the Medomak River is pretty. Eventually it curves up into some woods and back to the access road.

Directions: From Route 1, follow Depot Street north, continuing on Wagner Bridge Road. Turn right onto Reef Road; the preserve is located at its end. A school-bus turn-around located at the end of the road may be used for parking when school is not in session, otherwise park to one side of the road just beyond this point. Reef Point Preserve is located .6 mi from the end of Reef Road, and must be accessed by foot via the dirt road.
