This seaside path is a special place to visit in a touristy town — and hence, it can get very crowded in the summer. The 1.0-mile trail along the sea, literally right on the ocean’s edge, is paved (but not wheelchair accessible), easy, and picturesque. Dogs are only allowed off-season, October 1 to March 31.
Directions: There are several places to access the trail and several places to park. Check the map. The easiest places to park are off Cottage Street or next to Jackie’s Too Restaurant.

I would not recommend in a wheelchair. We went june 2025, very narrow with lots of pot holes, twists and turns, and hills. Our wheelchair actually tipped at one point. Later that day someone fell off the trail onto the rocks in his wheelchair and had to be rescued. We actually went on the road back from lighthouse because the trail was so unsafe. Do not recommend in a wheelchair.
Thank you for your feedback, this is very helpful. I’ve amended the post.
