Nelson Preserve, Gorham

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 36 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 1.1 mile
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: forest, wetlands, and thickets

This is a 36-acre preserve with a 1-mile looped trail. When I visited in the fall of 2018, the trail was still being finished, and there was no preserve trail head sign up yet. So it’s easy to miss the narrow footpath that departs from the north side of Flaggy Meadow Road. It is next to a home, and what looks like an old track into the woods.

Directions: Park on the north side of Flaggy Meadow Road in Gorham.

  1. Walked the trail in November and snow shoed twice. Its turning into one of my favorite spots. Easy access, and beautiful trees, ferns, moss!!!
