Bob Fay Memorial Park

Waterboro, York County

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 2 acres
  • Trail Mileage: ~0.25 miles
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: Little Ossipee Lake

This is a cute, out-of-the way, tiny town park, a great place to swim and have a picnic on Little Ossipee Lake. While the trails are very short, they’re fun, as you cross two bridges to access two little islands where you can explore hidden nooks by the lake, knotted with tree roots.

Robert Fay was a longtime selectman for Waterboro and was ”instrumental in seeing that the town of Waterboro secured the property as a town park…In 2009 the town agreed to deed the land to the Waterboro Land Trust, of which Bob was a founding member,” according to a town report.

Directions: The park is at the end of Turtle Cove Road, in North Waterboro, a narrow, dirt access lane for lakeside camps. To get to Turtle Cove Road from Webber Road, turn onto the unpaved Lake Drive. Go right at the first intersection and stay right. There are a couple of Bob Fay Memorial Park signs to help guide your way.
