Gould’s Landing trail, Orono

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 38 acres
  • Trail Mileage: ~0.5 miles
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy to moderate
  • Sights: wetlands

We explored this Orono Land Trust preserve on our way up to Baxter State Park, to stretch our legs during a long drive. It did not have as many clear views of the lake’s marshy edge as we expected. One of the nicest parts of the walk is the start, where there is a boat launch and small park on Pushaw Lake. The parking spots here are reserved for people with permits. Walkers can park in the small pullover by the trailhead.

Directions: The trailhead is on Essex Street at Gould’s landing on Pushaw Lake. Park along the narrow pullover close to the kiosk.
