Gregory Hiking Trail, Boothbay

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 20 acres
  • Trail Mileage: .7-mile loop
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: Back River, branch of Sheepscot River, small pond

This .7-mile Boothbay Region Land Trust trail makes a little wooded loop with views of the Back River. You’ll pass by a small, private cabin, and a pretty frog pond. Half of this pond appears to be on private property. The trail overlaps at the very end of the loop (or beginning, depending on which way you start) with the cabin’s driveway.

Directions: From Boothbay Harbor go north to the monument in Boothbay Center. Turn left onto Corey Lane. Proceed 0.3 of a mile. Turn right onto Barters Island Road and travel 1.7 miles, crossing a causeway. Turn left onto Sawyers Island Road. Proceed 0.5 miles to the entrance on the left.
