Moe’s Trail, Fenderson Wildlife Commons West

Wells, York County

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 600 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 1.0-mile loop
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: old white pines, several native orchids, blueberries

Here you can make a one-mile loop — which is well marked — on old logging roads through beautiful old pine forest. The land is owned by the town and seen to by the Wells Conservation Commission. About half-way through the loop, a well-used trail branches off the loop. It ends up on a long, straight path behind houses on Nottingham Drive.

The loop trail is easy and flat — very gentle walking. Visit in spring to look for native orchids and in the summer for blueberries.

Th trail is part of the Fenderson Commons, a 630-acre parcel that stretches between Route 109 and Horace Mills Road. You can also do a walk at the other end here.

Directions: Parking is along the side of Horace Mills Road, a little under a mile from Quarry Road.
