Sherwood Forest Conservation Area, Auburn

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 78 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 2.3 miles in network
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: forest, fields

Adjacent to the Sherwood Heights School is a really pleasant and seemingly well-used trail system on about 78 acres, protected and well-maintained Androscoggin Land Trust and the city. The trails are all blazed, with lots of trail signs. It’s a great little preserve, with a sweet pond in the middle.

Directions: The two trailheads leave from the school grounds. One is behind the ball field, the other behind the school building itself. I believe it’s okay to park at the school on the weekends. Otherwise, you should be able to park on the side of one of the nearby streets.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
