QUICK TRAIL FACTS
- Preserve Size: 16 acres
- Trail Mileage: 0.75-mile loop
- Pets: yes
- Difficulty: easy
- Sights: fields
The first time I visited this preserve on a cold March day, I didn’t hear any singing as I walked the 0.75-mile loop around the field, just the wind howling. But I returned in the summer and heard a meadow song of warblers, sparrows, and insects. On some visits you might also a spring chorus of frogs and toads.
Boothbay Region Land Trust mows the relatively flat trails, making the walking easy and pleasant. The only corner that was a bit wet was the loop around the southeast corner (where there is also a short bog bridge and it was a bit grassier than the rest of the trails).
Because of the sensitive habitat, dogs must be leashed at all time.
Directions: From Route 1 North, take a right onto Eddy Road, just after the bridge. After 1.2 miles, take a right onto Cross Point Road, and the parking lot is .3 miles on the right.
