QUICK TRAIL FACTS
- Preserve Size: Not sure
- Trail Mileage: 1.2 miles in network
- Pets: yes
- Difficulty: easy
- Sights: Little River, woods, wastewater treatment facilty
This is a small, serene get-away, with part of the trail following the fairly open banks of the Little River. The park abuts the town’s wastewater treatment plant, so it is sometimes possible to smell the plant.
The trails are easy to follow, often along wide paths. You can do a loop that’s a little under a mile. From the street, where there is roadside parking, the trails heads downhill to the river, crossing the power lines. There is a map at the trailhead on Summer Street.
Additionally, there is a 0.2-mile trail on the other side of the river, at the small Little River Preserve, just under five acres. This flat trail extends along the river, passing a section of rapids, before ending at an old stone wall, possibly the remnants of a bridge. The Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust recommends fishing and swimming here!
Directions: From Route 196, turn onto Summer Street. A kiosk will be on the right about 0.4 miles down. Park at the side of the road.
