Underwood School Park trails in orange. Falmouth Nature Preserve trails in blueThe connector trail between the two parks passes through private property. (Woodman Preserve in green and Underwood Springs Forest in lavender.)

The town park, also just called Underwood Park, consists of a small woodland with unmarked but easy-to-follow trails on flat terrain. Adjacent to the trailhead and road is an open grassy area and a playground with picnic tables.

The trail system connects, via private property, to Falmouth Nature Preserve and, via short stretches on roads, to Woodman Preserve and Underwood Springs Forest. The ~ 0.4-mile connector trail between Underwood Park and Falmouth Nature Preserve is posted by landowners who have granted walkers permission but ask that dogs be leashed and visitors be respectful. Be prepared to walk uncomfortably close to some homes if you follow this trail!

An endangered sedge grass was transplanted to the north-west edge of Underwood Park when it was threatened by nearby development. The town asks that you stand on the top of a nearby slope to look at the delicate plants from a distance.

Directions: The best place to park for Underwood School Park is in the lot next to the playground off of Forside Road. The entrance is across the street from Ramsdell Road.
