Maquoit Road trails in red, Crystal Spring Farm trails in blue.

This trail system of more than four miles on 240 acres was protected by the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust in 2026. For many years, the land owners allowed the public to walk here, and for land that was not actively managed by a trust, it had a surprisingly well-kept and wonderful system of trails.

The trails are almost uniformly smooth, even, flat, varying between wide and narrow (aka single track). The highlight is a needle-strewn overlook of marshy Booker Pond, which flows into Maquoit Bay. We saw a kingfisher and great blue heron on our visit. The property also contains pockets of pitch pine heath barren, a rare habitat.

You can walk from this trail system to Crystal Spring Farm by crossing the cemetery and the high school entrance road.

Directions: There are two obvious places to park: the wide shoulder in front of Maquoit Cemetery on Maquoit Road (lots of room here), or at the end of Seguin Drive, where there’s room for three or so cars.
