Crystal Spring Farm trails in blue, Maquoit Road trails in red.
There are two parts to this wonderful trail system; a south and a north network. The preserve is bisected by Pleasant Hill Road. The trails on the southern (farm) side of the road wind through the woods, fields and blueberry barrens that make up this 160-acre half of the preserve.
Dogs are allowed on both sides of the preserve, but must be kept on leash, particularly around the farm animals. The farm trails offer views of cows, pigs, goats, and wild blueberry fields. The birding is wonderful in the spring in the fields.
This other side is hillier (unusual for this part of Brunswick) and the winding trail on the western end of the Main Loop follows the top of a ridgeline that is probably a glacial moraine remnant. This ridge rises twenty to forty feet above the surrounding terrain, affording good views of the lower areas of the property on both sides.
You can continue your walk across Maquoit Road to access its large network of nice, easy trails in the forest.

Directions: To access the trails on the south (the farm side), park at the farm, or by the gate along Pleasant Street. You’ll see it on the left as you drive in from Maine Street. To access the trails on the north side, take Baribeau Road to the medical offices, and turn in at the drive for Tom Settlemire Garden. Drive to the end of the parking lot here. You’ll see the kiosk and trailhead off to your right, at the edge of the woods. Park in any marked spot. You can also find your way in here from the assisted living community, off Thornton Way. The Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust has done a great job of building walkable, easy trails.
