- Sights: Piscataquis and Penobscot rivers, dam, meadow, memorial
The town has created a pleasant park and walking trail at the point where the Piscataquis River flows into the Penobscot River.
From the main parking area at the end of King’s Bridge, you can follow a short paved section of trail across a mown area adjacent to the river. It has lights, picnic tables, benches and a memorial. When it ends, you can continue along mowed paths to a bridge across the churning waters of a salmon bypass. It brings you to a little island with views over the dam and rivers. Retrace your steps and continue along the path for more pretty views. The trail ends at Coffin Street.
Directions: The main parking area is off Route 155, at the west end of the bridge. It’s at the corner where Route 115 (County Road) and Route 16 (Argyle Road) converge.
